Oil Pressure Issue [Archive] - Toyota MR2 Message Board

OK, I just bought an 88 NA. I need for someone to tell me if this is an issue or if it is normal. When the car is idling, the oil pressure gauge is dead center, when I step on the gas and increase speed, the gauge moves to about 80 percent of H. Come to a light and stop, then it goes back to dead center. The car is an automatic. Please help. I dont want to blow the engine on a car that I just purchased (bought it at a wholesale auction, so there was no previous owner to ask questions of).
