20V MK1 Engine Swap Axle question - Do you have to use the Tulip? [Archive] - Toyota MR2 Message Board

I have a swapped 87 MR2 with a silvertop engine with a C52 trany. My axle is out of a 87, with C50 transmission. My drivers side axle is flinging grease so I purchased a axle for a 88 MR2 from Autozone, PN 6969. Not that it matters, they said the 88 axle would fit 87-89. 38472 My question is will the new axle work with out the tulip? The spline count is the same.
