Frunk Release Mechanism Broken - '88 AW11 [Archive] - Toyota MR2 Message Board

There are a few similar threads floating around the internet but I guess this issue is a bit different. The release lever inside the car is fine, but the cable has no tension. Other people have been lucky enough to find the cable somewhere else along the route to the mechanism and pull there, but my problem is worse. The business end of the cable (under the hood - ball end, not disk end) has completely separated from the release mechanism. I can see (and get my arm far enough in to feel)
