headlight issue

i got into an accident which pretty much crippled my front drivers side. Destroyed the fender and pretty much everything underneath of it as well. I pulled the fender off and hit the lightswitch and my lights moved up. But now the drivers side light is stuck there. It moved into the up position but now it is stuck there and wont move back down. I got a new housing and a motor from the junk yard but I am wondering if I have to totally replace the light housing or is this a common problem that
