c52 trans.

stuck, trans, split, case, worked, gears, pulled, stick, whatever,causing, floor, tran, back, neutral, problems, info, lockedup, times, moved, shifter, lever, work, posssible, move, 3,4,5, gear

i split the case on a c52, once split i moved the shifter lever around a few times. it lockedup, i was able to get it un stuck. any how i put it in the car and went to move it. it only had 3,4,5 and rev. 1st and 2nd would not work.....is it posssible i had it in say second gear or whatever,causing it to stick. i pulled the trans. had another one on the floor and all gears worked. i took it apart and it got stuck. does the tran have to be in neutral to put the case back together??????? or
