Hey guys, I recently picked up an 89 mk1 hard top for about a grand. Just getting into the mr2 scene and car scene in general (trying to self educate.) I got it home the other day and everything was fine during the trip, yet, I never went over 3k when shifting. When I got it back to my house I was taking around the neighborhood the next day and decided to milk some more out of the gears and any acceleration after 3500-4k would give me a bad bogging and complete loss of power.
