So my engine is pretty filthy. I got it that way last summer. Originally me and my friends assumed that all this GUNK you see in the pictures was just a fire retardant that Toyota used. But after searching the forums no one else seems to have this in their engine bays! I also had trouble finding any mk1 engine cleanup threads in general.
