I bought some rebuild parts from these people a few months ago: C50 : Automatic, Standard Transmission and Transfer Case Rebuild Kits, Cobra Transmission Parts 1-800-293-1848, Cobra Transmission $23 for a set of synchros. Excellent deal. Buy that and a rear input shaft bearing for a decent c50 refresher. You might pull it all off for under $100. Make sure you have a shop press and decent pullers. I found the process to be straight forward, but I can see how some might not.
