- I bought an 85 mkI about a year ago it has 170k miles it ran great for about 8 months then it started having transmission problems. one day it would shift fine then the next day it would act like the slave cylinder or clutch master went out. I replaced them both it was good for a month and now I have resistance on the clutch pedal but the clutch stays partially engaged. it grinds in every gear. I have flushed the system and bled it multiple times without effect. does anyone have an idea what
