4A-GE MK1 Engine Failed smog, need Cat... and HELP [Archive] - Toyota MR2 Message Board

4A-GE MK1 Engine, muffler, failed, flange, smog, issue, opinions, bolt, requires, cheap, certified, flanged, welded, worse, looked, today, cheaper, missing

So i failed smog today from a bad cat. It gets worse though. I looked under the car and the cat is welded to the muffler with the flange missing. So, I think it might be cheaper to just get a new muffler with the flange and a new flanged cat and bolt it all up. Opinions...? The other issue is that CA requires a CA certified cat. Does anyone know where I can get a cheap one?
