4A-GE MK1 Engine, 85/86, proper, check, early, question, codes, throws, quick, wanted

quick question... my car is an early 87 which seems to have an 85/86 ECU in it (it throws 85/86 codes) If I wanted to put a proper 87+ ECU in, is there anything I need to do or check for before doing so?
