- I have an 86 MR2, no supercharger, all original. It was rebuilt 10 years ago and is as smooth as ever. However, the idle keeps creeping up. Now it is idleing at @ 3,300 rpm!!!! The adjustment screw is all the way down and I have cleaned the throttle body and air filter. It has done this a few times in the past just not as bad, even before it was rebuilt. It would get to @ 2,200 rpm then eventually go back down to @ 1,100 on its own after a few days or so.. It is not going down this time
