wired, messy, foglights, fogs, fuse, blew, everytime, short, working, blows, helpfull, safe, guys, clue, bolting, owner, wire, switch, chassy, battery

hi guys i want to wire my foglights but i have no clue how to wired them, last owner did a messy job and want to get rid of that, he wired the fogs by bolting the neg in the chassy, pos from the battery, with a fuse, and a switch or something like that, and thats all there is, but it looks messy and i think there is a short somewhere it was working a while ago and now the fuse blew and everytime i try to put one it blows and dont think it is safe at all, can someone tell me of a better
