A/C compressor kicks on, blows warm air [Archive] - Toyota MR2 Message Board

1989 NA MR2 202K miles (rebuilt at 111K) Last week my A/C suddenly stopped blowing cold air. The compressor still turns on with the relay (can hear it and see it draw amps), but only warm air. In the past when it needed refrigerant would stop blowing cold over time. Any ideas on what it could be. New compressor and all parts ~$500 OEM, but I am not convinced it is the compressor.
