Speedometer gone nuts [Archive] - Toyota MR2 Message Board

Has any one had this problem? I have a 87 2 with the auto trans. My speedometer is good till i hit about 40 mph. then starts to wind up the gauge and bonces between 70 and 120mph till i come to a stop. you can hear the gear behind the cluster spinning. Any ideas I am willing to listen to. Thanks.
