For my 3S-GTE: The problem started with an abnormal idle, sputtering and somewhat bogging down at some points. The next day the car just had the most difficult time starting when I turned the ignition, hearing a loud grind the first attempt; when the car actually started, it felt as if the car was only running on 2 or 3 cylinders.
