I have a 1987 MK1 and the engine has almost 160K. I had a repair shop look it over and they said that there is a compression leak? The previous owner said that the car was overheating, but temperature has remained constant since I have been driving the car (approx 5 miles total). Anyway, when I changed the oil and filter a week ago I did notice that the bottom of the engine was very dirty and you could see where oil has been leaking from somewhere?
