thermostat replacement and the brown goop, please help ! [Archive] - Toyota MR2 Message Board

I am having the most trouble removing the bottom bolt/nut to the thermostat housing. I can not get in any type of 10mm wrench. any suggestions to get around this ? This all started because my car began overheating. It will heat up and steam out. The temp guage will never go past mid way. I am doing a complete flush and thermostat replacement just in case. There is also brown rust like sludge in the coolant.
