hello i recently bought a 86 mr2, it needed a bit of work but im finally on the last problem but i cant figure it out, i get a really strong gas/exaust smell in the car by the time i get to the end of my street. so far ive eliminated some possibilities - its not the vacuum canister, a leak, a bad hose in the engine, a bad O ring on the gas cap, i noticed a strong gas smell comming from my clutch today, so i took out my entire gas tank and noticed the fuel check valve looked wet
