- Been thinking about a potential turbo. VW/Audi has a 1.8 Litre 20 Valve engine with VVT (sounds like our beloved silvertop) 9.5-1 compression that produces 180 horses, or 100 HP/Litre. What attracts my attention is their impressive torque curve, 174 pounds @ 1950-5500 RPM. The K03 turbo is small and is more of a torque enhancer then high end power. My thinking is to drop the boost by a pound or two to compensate for the ST slightly higher compression and use the VW turbo. I am more
