5th gear jumps out [Archive] - Toyota MR2 Message Board

5th will pop out of gear as you load or unload the transmission, doing so will also cause the shift lever to move fore aft, resulting in the pop out of gear. the lower front motor mount is bad and allows the engine to rock under load, the transmission makes no noise and shifts just fine in all gears, the shift lever only moves back and forth in 5th, not any of the other gears. is it the engine mount or an internal transmission problem? thanks
