20V MK1 Engine Swap VVT valve wiring issue [Archive] - Toyota MR2 Message Board

My engine stalled on me yesterday, had to walk the rest of the way to work and tow the car home. The car is an 86 with 20v blacktop swap. Today, after a couple hours searching wiring diagrams, unplugging stuff, blowing fuses etc. I determined the cause. The VVT valve pigtail got up against the exhaust mani, melted through the + cable and shorted out the 15A EFI fuse. Bye bye power to the fuel pump & ECU. I also found the vvt plug to be a little melty, and I busted the plug pretty badly
